Welcome to this review of RECC’s activities in 2021!

I hope you will find the information in the Annual Report interesting and useful. This report describes the huge body of work that RECC carried out in 2021. For most of the year the COVID 19 restrictions remained in place which make our achievements all the more noteworthy. Thanks go to the RECC team members who have worked tirelessly throughout

Thanks also go to our 2,000 plus Code members who supported us throughout the year. We couldn't have done any of it without you! You installed a record number of renewable energy generators during the year, which is remarkable, given the circumstances in which you were working.

In the Annual Report you will find our activities broken down into sections including: Code Membership, Monitoring Compliance with the Code, Enforcing Compliance with the Code and Consumer Complaints.

To give you an overview of our numbers in 2021:

  • we had over 2,000 members at the end of the year
  • we received 773 new membership applications
  • our members installed over 70,000 renewable energy generators
  • we closely monitored 684 members
  • we asked 68 members to respond to breaches of the Code and/or Bye-Laws
  • we helped recover £104,122 for consumers which is equal to an average of £1,700 for each complaint RECC resolved through the Dispute Resolution Process.

Among the high points of the year for us:

  • we contributed to Government’s design for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme ready for introduction in spring 2022
  • we continued to offer Code Members installing solar PV, battery storage and wind only a pay-as-you-go membership option
  • we attended the Solar & Storage Live event in early December, the only in-person event to be held in the sector in 2021
