EV Consumer Code for Home Chargepoints set to launch on 12 February

Join the REA and Renewable Energy Assurance Limited (REAL) for the launch of the UK’s first Electric Vehicle Consumer Code for domestic charge point installers!

The Electric Vehicle Consumer Code for Home Chargepoints (EVCC), which sets out high standards for businesses who install chargepoints in consumers' homes, will launch on 12 February.

There are around 1,000 businesses authorised to install home chargepoints. However, we know that not all consumers have had a good experience when they've installed one.Going forward, by choosing an EVCC member, consumers will be sure that they have all the information they need before they sign up, that the chargepoint meets all the technical and product requirements and that it is installed correctly and safely.

By being an EVCC member, a business will stand out from its competitors, will show manufacturers, suppliers and consumers alike that they are serious about high standards and have a higher profile by being promoted on the EVCC website.

Sitting alongside the Code there is a suite of model documents, including a quotation, a contract and a workmanship warranty. By using these, EVCC members can be sure that they are complying with all the complex consumer protection legislation in force. And, if anything should go wrong, EVCC will be on hand to help sort it out.

To launch EVCC, REAL is hosting a reception at DWF's central London offices on Fenchurch Street.
