Insolvency Service bans two directors of solar PV companies

Steven Douglas Newman, the director of PV Solar Direct Ltd, a company that went into Voluntary Liquidation on 29 November 2012 owing creditors and shareholders £282,997, of which consumers at least £186,602, has been disqualified as a director for 9 years following an investigation by the Insolvency Service. The company offered a bogus cash back scheme to customers purchasing solar panels.

Stephen Rievaulx-Wilson, the director of Solar Energy Savings Ltd, a company that was wound up by the Court in the Public Interest on 26 July 2012 owing creditors and shareholders £13,833,694, has been disqualified as a director for 13 years following an investigation by the Insolvency Service. This company also ’duped customers into purchasing solar panels by offering a bogus cash back scheme’.

Neither company was ever a member of the Renewable Energy Consumer Code.
